A low-budget black-and-white dark drama with a reference set that does more work than most briefs manage. The film is inspired by Taxi Driver, In the Company of Men, Uzak and the novel No Longer Human; the temp tracks have included In the Mood for Love, The Caretaker and the folk singer Matt Elliott. The post asks for something atmospheric and hypnotising yet slightly rhythmic, and describes it as the soundtrack to drinking yourself to death while overlooking a New York skyline. It is a paid gig with no figure attached and no named production behind it, so establish the money early.
