Professional
Reality Games · Paid, rate not stated · Kraków (in-office) · Full-time staff role, mobile game · No deadline stated
Reality Games is hiring a full-time Lead Audio Designer, headed in the listing as Senior Sound Composer, to create the soundtrack for a location-based mobile game. The work runs from ambient loops and iconic motifs to seasonal and event music and music for around 150 property categories such as cafés, airports, stadiums and museums, and includes helping to set up the studio's first in-house sound lab. It asks for 2+ years composing music or designing sound for games, F2P mobile preferred, and comfort across jazz, trap, lo-fi, epic orchestral and electronic. The posting rules out freelance, contract and remote work and gives no salary, so ask for the range early.
Indie
Jared Ditman (CastingCall.club) · $1,500 flat · Location not stated · Marionette and shadow-puppet fantasy film · No deadline stated
A dark fantasy pilot told entirely with marionettes and shadow puppetry, adapted from the director's upcoming middle-grade novel. The post says the film has played festivals and won five awards, Audience Choice and Best Animated Film among them. Before releasing it online, the director is exploring an alternate cut with an original score: twinkly, whimsical, dreamy and haunting, in orchestral and lullaby styles, built around a Mirror theme and a theme for its twelve-year-old orphan hero. A digitally produced orchestral score on virtual instruments is what is wanted, not a live orchestra. Ask for the running time before you weigh the $1,500 against it.
Steffanie Bradley, writer/director (Mandy.com) · US$500–US$800 flat · On location · Neo-noir short (10-page script) · Closes November 17
A ten-page neo-noir, Southern Gothic short that doubles as a proof of concept, aimed at festival submissions in 2027: an ex-assassin turned desert preacher is dragged back into a violent underworld after the cartel murders his estranged son. The music brief is for the main location, a neon upscale club, where the film needs score that gives a sense of club music without overpowering dialogue; dark synthwave and classical are the styles named. The writer-director is background-checked but has posted no previous jobs on Mandy, and the contract note says the rate is flexible by crew position, so the US$500–US$800 may move.
ZMStudios (CastingCall.club) · $350 flat · Location not stated · Medieval walk-and-talk adventure game · No deadline stated
A medieval walk-and-talk adventure about a blue-haired psychopath called Icey, in which the player's choices decide who lives and dies; its developer has been working on it for two years. It wants about ten instrumental tracks of 30 seconds to a minute, for exploration and full scenes, easily loopable without driving the player insane, and rules out AI entirely. That is about $35 a track, thin for the scope, but stated up front.
Elka (CastingCall.club) · $250 flat · Location not stated · 2D animated short, student budget (~3 min) · Score by March 2027
A student-budget 2D comedy in which two alien real estate agents try to sell a planet to a wealthy guinea pig while its dangerous wildlife keeps getting in the way. The whole film is to be scored in a relaxing, cheerful beach-vacation mood with a playful cartoon sound, and Mickey Mousing closely synced to movement and comic timing. The score is expected by March 2027, depending on the production schedule. $250 is modest for a whole film timed this closely to the picture, but the film runs only about three minutes.
CelineS9 (CastingCall.club) · $250 flat · Location not stated · Animated short, student budget (~3:30) · Score around January
A student-budget animated short about a mischievous bartender who turns each customer's request into an absurd custom drink that sends them into a surreal fantasy. The score is a jazzy bar melody with a retro early-2000s cartoon vibe, shifting mood with each customer and fantasy sequence, with Mickey Mousing for actions and comedy beats. The director has attached an animatic with scratch voice acting and a rough music vibe as reference, and hopes to have the final score around January. $250 is modest for a whole-film score with this many mood shifts and sync points.
Collaborative
FAMU International students (Facebook) · Unpaid · Remote · Romantic comedy/fantasy short on 16mm (8–10 min) · Shoots November 3–5
Three American students at FAMU International in Prague are shooting an 8–10 minute romantic comedy on 16mm, in which a young woman falls asleep in the bath after a disappointing Valentine's Day and Cupid gives her everything she thinks she wants, until it becomes far too much. The score starts playful and classically romantic and builds in pace and chaos as Cupid's gestures escalate to a wedding and babies, with Nat King Cole's "L-O-V-E" and Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King" as references. There is also music in the action itself: Cupid serenades her on a lyre on screen. They would ideally like an unpaid collaborator in exchange for credit and portfolio material, but say they can discuss compensation and would rather hear from you than have the budget put you off.
