6 opportunities this week, including a LEGO stop-motion horror series that pays per cue and a roguelike that wants Balatro in a medieval tavern
Also: a Dhar Mann Studios composer contract, and an unpaid dungeon crawler that lets you keep the rights.
Dhar Mann Studios is hiring a composer for its drama output, at up to $30 an hour against a five-year experience bar. Below that: a self-financed LEGO stop-motion survival horror series that prices its cues individually, a chess roguelike after Balatro's soundtrack played in a medieval tavern, a gothic action game built in layers around one central theme, a two-person horror game asking you to name your own price, and a dungeon crawler that pays nothing and says so in its title. Of the 379 new listings I read this week, 149 came from CastingCall.club. Six named a rate: two were audio work with no music in them, one paid five Canadian dollars an hour, one asked for four songs for $60, and one vanished before I could publish it. The sixth is below.
Professional
Dhar Mann Studios · Up to $30/hour · Remote · Contractor · No deadline stated
Dhar Mann Studios produces motivational cinematic dramas for YouTube, Facebook and streaming TV, and wants a composer to create and arrange original scores across that output, working with the production team on tonality, style and feel. The employer's own posting states up to $30 an hour against a bar of five years' music production experience and a scoring background, preferably in drama — a ceiling rather than a rate, and a modest one at that level of experience. It is a remote contractor role worked from a home office, and the studio asks for no formal cover letter: a few short paragraphs on why you fit this particular position, with links to your work.

Indie
Alex Lynam · $25–$100 per track, by cue type · Remote · LEGO stop-motion series · Closes December 22
A TV-14 LEGO stop-motion survival horror series, self-financed, aiming at six weekly episodes for a 2028 release. It is unusually specific about what it pays for what: $75–$100 for a two-to-three-minute action cue, $50–$75 for a one-minute fanfare or main theme, and $25–$50 for three-to-four minutes of ambient score, with nine reference tracks linked and a brief asking for orchestral, cinematic writing that carries intense action and quieter emotional beats. The per-cue rates are modest, but they are itemised up front rather than left to be discovered after the first delivery.
Alejandro, solo developer · Paid, rate not stated · Remote · Turn-based strategy roguelike · No deadline stated
A chess-inspired turn-based roguelike with a public playable demo, a Steam page and a trailer already up, wanting an adaptive score that moves through neutral, tension, powerful-enemy and boss states as layered versions of one recognisable theme. The brief describes the target as Balatro's soundtrack played in a medieval tavern, with Celeste as a second reference and a palette of lute, harpsichord and medieval percussion set against synths and chiptune. The developer is commissioning as an individual and says there is no AAA-sized music budget, but the first commitment is a paid theme prototype rather than the whole soundtrack, and students and newer composers are explicitly welcome.

Cross_De_Lena · Paid, rate not stated · Remote · Top-down action game · No deadline stated
A fast top-down action game solo-developed in Godot, on Steam and in active development with a playable build, described as somewhere between a cathedral and a machine. The music is specified in layers rather than tracks — calm, combat and high-intensity loops, plus a riser going in and a low impact coming out, all tied to one central theme — with wordless choir and low male chant among the references. Sound effects are wanted too, as the same hire or a separate one, and no rate is given for either. Establish scope and figure before you start.

StoneWellGames · Paid, rate not stated · Remote · Online multiplayer horror game · No deadline stated
A two-person team building a light-horror online multiplayer game, after around seven tracks and cues: loopable beds for the menu, lobby and main gameplay at roughly one to three minutes each, plus shorter cues for transitions and specific moments. They also want dynamic music that builds when a player is spotted or chased and settles back down afterwards. It is the shortest of this week's paid game briefs, and it asks you to name your own pricing. Scope and rate are both yours to propose.

Strange-Nebula6622 · Unpaid, full credit · Remote · Dungeon-crawler RPG · No deadline stated
Unpaid, and it says so in the post title rather than burying it. What is on offer instead is concrete: full credit as the artist on the official download page, your name shown on screen whenever your track is playing, and ownership of the work stays with you. The ask is bounded — combat and action cues only, around four to five minutes each, any sub-genre that fits — against a build with combat, inventory, dungeons and achievements already working. The poster volunteers that there is no guarantee the game gets fully released, which is a disclosure most unpaid listings leave out.
